Prof. dr. Franc Forstnerič - ERC-ADV-Grant - Holomorphic Partial Diffenetial Relations
ERC Advanced Grant – a project funded by the European Research Council for established researchers.
Prof. Dr. Franc Forstnerič is the Principal Investigator of the ERC (European Research Council) project – HORIZON ERC Advanced Grant.
The project was submitted by the University of Ljubljana (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics) and, upon the start of the implementation, a grant agreement was signed with the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA).
At the beginning of 2025, an amendment to the grant agreement was signed with ERCEA, under which the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Mechanics joined the project as a partner institution as of April 1, 2025.
Project title: Holomorphic Partial Differential Relations
Acronym: HPDR
Project duration: January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2027
Project description:
Oka manifolds under study
Oka theory is the field of complex analysis dealing with global problems on Stein manifolds which admit analytic solutions in the absence of topological obstructions. Oka manifolds are a new class of complex manifolds whose essential feature is that they allow an abundance of holomorphic mappings from affine complex manifolds. Holomorphic mappings are important because they occur naturally in physical problems. The EU-funded HPDR project aims to further investigate the properties of Oka manifolds and their application to a wide variety of problems in complex geometry.
